With the new Zotero plugin, it is possible to add new citations, but I did no find a way to edit existing citations (e.g., to add references to a citation).
I hope this will be implemented, thanks in advance.

Do you want to edit citations in plugin so that they are saved on the Zotero service?
If you don't like the text of the citations, you can edit the citations after adding them to the document.
But the changes will not be transferred to the Zotero service.
Sorry for the late answer, I had an issue with my github and was not receiving notifications...
Imagine you cited (Prokofiev et al., 2024), but you want to add (Bubnova et al., 2023) to this citation: (Bubnova et al., 2023; Prokofiev et al., 2024).
Right now you need to delete this citation to make a new one.
In the Zotero plugin for Word or LibreOffice, you can edit an existing citation.
