Shared Code Projects were introduced in Visual Studio 2013 SP2. Determine availability in:

  • Visual Studio 2019 confirmed
  • Xamarin Studio (32-bit, MonoMac era)
  • Xamarins Studio (last supported version)
  • Visual Studio for Mac (current version)
  • MonoDevelop (current version)

The macOS tools and support have evolved rather … notoriously. Xamarin Studio on Mac dropped support for older macOS versions, and the product eventually became Visual Studio for Mac when Microsoft acquired Xamarin. Additionally, macOS has dropped support for 32-bit applications entirely, and the older versions of MonoMac / Xamarin Studio cannot produce 64-bit applications. With these evolutions, there are now three versions of every project for the macOS build of the different components in VINTage!
