In section 3.4 , the text states:

If status is present in the verified payload of the SD-JWT, the
status SHOULD be checked. It depends on the Verifier policy to
reject or accept a presentation of a SD-JWT VC based on the status of
the Verifiable Credential.

Another sentence should be added:

If dcpol is present in the verified payload of the SD-JWT, the Digital Credential Policy under which the Digital Credential has been issued by the Issuer SHOULD be considered by the Verifier. When the Verifier is able to derive from it the characteristics of the Holder, the Verifier can know that the presentation of the Digital Credential to the Verifier by the Holder has not been suspended nor invalided by the Digital Credential Issuer. It depends on the Verifier policy to reject or accept a presentation of a SD-JWT DC when this claim is present.
