Mermaid Integration not working in new space

I was able to get mermaid integration working in a space. You can see examples on this page: https://rpeltz.gitbook.io/create-and-publish-a-chrome-browser-extension/create-a-chrome-extension/code-the-extension.
I'm working in a new space. I've integrated mermaid, but it's not rendering a chart. You can see at the bottom of this page examples where just the code is rendered: https://rpeltz.gitbook.io/using-ai-at-home-and-in-the-workplace/introduction/what-is-ai. I can't figure out what I'm doing differently that is causing this.
The code renders correctly in the mermaid sandbox: https://mermaid.live/
I've tried wrapping the code in ```mermaid in addition to selecting Mermaid from the code options but it doesn't help.

I can see that the mermaid chart is rendered in the published version, so it's only in the local unpublished content that you don't see it rendered. Closing this.
