Android+Gradle: 2 files found with path 'simplelogger.properties' from inputs

I tried building an Android app using Android Gradle Plugin 8.3.2 and this dependency on simple-openai:

implementation 'io.github.sashirestela:simple-openai:2.3.3'

The build failed with:

> Task :app:mergeDebugJavaResource FAILED

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* What went wrong:
Execution failed for task ':app:mergeDebugJavaResource'.
> A failure occurred while executing com.android.build.gradle.internal.tasks.MergeJavaResWorkAction

I was able to work around it by adding packagingOptions:

android {
   ...
    packagingOptions {
        merge "simplelogger.properties"
    }
}

I'm trying but getting errors.

specifically this one about slf4j-simple :

if you had any success, could you please tell me which Java JDK version you used in project settings ?
Also the version on builg.gradle:
mine is:
