Feature request: custom skeleton files

Took a quick look at the code but didn't see a mechanism for adding a custom skeleton file. For example, I'd like to add a couple of lines to the gitignore file to handle files added by the Comma IDE.

If something like this is not on the roadmap, I'd like to suggest it.
