None of the flowcharts are being displayed in the spec - most notably, in Example 1, 2, 3, ...

I think you're referring to the Mermaid renderings, such as should be seen here. This appears to be an issue with the ReSpec processor, as this is the HTML behind that image —

      <pre class="mermaid" aria-busy="false"><img src="blob:http://localhost:3000/d491ec51-2c72-409d-9d6e-8d687042b273"></pre>

Clearly, that blob URI makes no sense, as localhost would be relative to the browser.

On the other hand, this is the HTML in the GitHub source —

      <pre class="mermaid"><img src="blob:https://w3c-ccg.github.io/b1a6e30a-a42b-4f98-ae07-764c40ce69b6"></pre>

This URI resolves to a 404.

(I think the title of this issue should be changed from
Flowcharts are being displayed as text in spec
as they're not being displayed as text; rather,
Flowcharts in spec are being displayed as broken `img` icons".)

Hopefully these details will help someone more versed in GitHub Pages find the resolution to the issue.
