: Folder containing datasets used in the analysis.
The data in this repository was collected through a novel architecture simulating YouTube searches on political topics from home user locations in Finland. This approach was designed to analyze the recommendation algorithm's behavior across a diverse range of political content.
- Funneling Effect: Users are directed towards a select group of channels, narrowing the range of political views they are exposed to.
- Overrepresentation of Right-Wing Voices: A significant bias towards right-wing content, especially from the Finns Party.
- Algorithmic Bias: Evidence suggesting an algorithmic bias within YouTube's recommendation system.
The data in this repository are open for academic and research purposes.
